How do I find my college student’s mailing address?
It depends on the school. Some schools give every residence hall its own street address, some use one shared campus address with a personal box number, and a few assign each student an individual address only visible in their housing portal. This tool looks up the verified, official format for each school in the pilot so you don’t have to guess.
Can I just use my student’s dorm name and room number as the address?
Sometimes, but not always, and getting it wrong can mean a delayed or returned package. Several schools explicitly warn against using the dorm’s physical street address, and route mail through a separate mailroom, package center, or personally assigned box number instead. Always use the format your student’s school actually publishes.
Is this the same as my student’s home address on file with the school?
No. This tool is only about where to physically ship a letter or package so it reaches your student on campus. It has nothing to do with the address of record the registrar or admissions office uses.
Why isn’t my school listed?
This is an early pilot covering 24 schools while we prove out a process for verifying every address against an official source rather than guessing. We plan to expand it if the pilot proves reliable.
